The new word Agrospace has been launched on May 2006 as a challenge for all the people interested in the connection between space research and agriculture industry, during the first international meeting in Fondi two years ago. The second international workshop has been the opportunity to check the progress of the Lawinio (LAtina Wildlife and Vegetation Initiative In Orbit) a project aimed at the development of a greenhouse devoted to the cultivation of vegetables in space environment. With the shift from the conceptual to the application phase, research interacts with territory in a positive evolution, opening new paths and proposing ambitious objectives, starting from its first testing in extreme environments foreseen in 2007.
